• Structural Performance for R/C member with post installed anchors

Dr. Mukai received his Ph.D. in Faculty of Science and Engineering from Tokyo University of Science in 2003, M.S. from Tokyo University of Science in 1999. His research focus on the performance based seismic design considering amount of damage and reparability of damaged building. He had developed the prediction method of maximum response displacement of RC building under earthquake considering the phase difference characteristics of input motions, the database to calculate repair time for damaged members and seismic retrofit technologies with high strength material and hysteresis model of RC beams under many cyclic loadings. Dr. Mukai is a senior research engineer in BRI (Building Research Institute) and is a project leader of BRI priority research theme "Development on performance based seismic design for buildings with post-EQ functional use" since 2013. Now he is actively focused on the technologies to mitigate the damage for brittle members not focused in practical design including non-structural members in the project. He has been involved in the Building Standard Provision Promotion Projects supported by the ministry since 2008 and a member of RC structure steering committee and RC box wall structure steering committee in AIJ (Architectural Institute of Japan) since 2013.
